Red Bull at Chew Playground

Today was an exciting day for South Philadelphia. Red Bull hosted the 2-on-2 Revolution at Chew Playground (19th & Washington). The event was 32-team, single-elimination 2-on-2 tournament. Players get 2 points for made baskets, and three points for a dunk, a block, a steal, or making their defender fall down. The winning team received $2,000. This was a great event and I had a lot of fun shooting this. I hope I can do more Red Bull events.

Jungle Juice visits NYC

Anmlhse has a monthly party called Jungle Juice. This month we traveled to Sin Sin Leopard Lounge. The 4 loko was free but NYC cant party like we can in Philly, they only would give us a glass of this crazy party drink. Anyway shoutout to everyone who showed up. I know I came from Philly, there were people from the Poconos and from the City. It was a wild party and I hope we can get invited back.

My old neighbor Nesha is pregnant. This baby has caused me a lot of stress. Nesha was in and out of the hospital for a week. The hospital tried keeping her but she insisted on being home because she was not going to miss her baby shower. The baby shower was lovely and I wish all the joy and luck to her family.

My cousin recently graduated from IUP. Now that he is home we can spend some time together. He is working on a mixtape/album and I support him 100%. He wanted me to listen to a song in the car while we were driving to our location and its now my favorite. I don’t know that name of that song but we’ll call it “The Devil Wears Prada, Gucci and Louis”

Memorial Day

Today is the day that we celebrate our troops currently at war and our past troops who served to make our country what it is today. My dad Albert Thurlow was involved in the Vietnam War. We all know how that went. My dad died when I was 15 years old. I may not have many memories with him but I know he had plenty with me and he loved me. I met my brothers at the funeral and ever since then I’ve had a great relationship with them. I love my brothers and their families. With out my dad it wouldn’t be possible.
Recently I downloaded Lazer Proof by Major Lazer and La Roux. Track number 6 is dedicated to all the soldiers out there and the ones that are not with us anymore.

The Philadelphia Bicycle Vignette Story

My friend Bryan Green is creating a movie. He asked me to take production photos for him, so as a friend I did. I’ve never done anything like this before, it was a challenge because I could not use my flash so I would not interrupt the video but let me tell you I had a ton of fun doing this.
The music video part of his movie is called Banana Booty. The Banana Booty Girls are: Jessica Hines, Shaina Robinson, Rachel Simmons and Ciarra Lambert. The rappers are: James Baile and Bryant Nnadi. The cinematographer is Kevin Martin, Key Grip is James Baile, and the P.A is Justin Lee. The song was created and recorded by Vanache. With out all these people the video would not happen.
I did not know what to expect from doing this but it was an mind blowing experience, everyone had a crazy time.
Bryan says hopefully the video will be done in a year.
I hope you guys can see how much fun we had just by looking at the photos.

Jenne Daley

I did an interview and a little photo story with Jenne and came to find out Rowing saved her career. Jenne decided the academic part of college at Boston University was not fulfilling her appetite, but instead of quitting she reconsidered and felt that rowing so too important to her to just throw everything away. Jenne Graduated from BU and now rows for Vesper, a very well known rowing club. She has been training so one day she could go to the Olympics. She is a very dedicated individual and nothing will stand in her way of rowing her way to gold one day. I hope that one day I will either be watching her on t.v. or in person doing what she loves the most.
